A SHIFT IN BAD HABITS AND A CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE

by Rebecca Conran CHHC

November arrives as a month dedicated to the transformation of our self-worth—one that reminds us that healing often begins with a shift in habits and perspective. This is a time when our inner worlds demand our attention, when what’s been buried beneath comfort or avoidance begins to rise to the surface. The energy of this month moves between fire and water, between initiation and surrender, asking us to integrate wisdom from both realms.

On Tuesday, November 4th, Mars enters Sagittarius, shifting the tone from the heavy dredging of Scorpio into something more open and exploratory. The fire of Sagittarius fuels our desire for movement, freedom, and meaning. After months of intensity, this transit can reignite our faith in the bigger picture, but it also asks us to consider where impulsivity might be masking a deeper fear of stillness. Action taken from clarity, stillness and peace rather than restlessness is what moves us toward true alignment now. Additionally, integrity is important for our habits. Are we walking our talk in a physical, emotional and spiritual sense?

The Full Moon in Taurus on Wednesday, November 5th, brings a stabilizing influence amidst the swirl of change. The Sabian Symbols show us that the keyword for this full moon is ‘Emergence.’ The degree of this moon asks us to become focused on our self-responsibility in the moment to again, that word, ‘integrity,’ and to release the need to engage with unnecessary concerns. Taurus teaches us about embodiment, about finding peace in the tangible and the simple. This transit may highlight our attachments—what we cling to for a sense of safety—and invite us to soften our grip. There is liberation in remembering that what’s meant for us won’t require force.

With Venus entering Scorpio on Thursday, November 6th, relationships deepen into territory that is both intimate and raw, and commitments are made. Love under this transit becomes an initiation into vulnerability, where we are called to face our desires and fears without turning away. Authentic connection requires emotional honesty, and this influence reminds us that depth is far more nourishing than surface-level harmony. It may be scary to open up and share our sore spots with someone else, but this placement also has the courage to do so and the medicine to create healing from such openness.

As Uranus retrograde re-enters Taurus on Saturday, November 8th, the collective themes of security, values, and sustainability are once again stirred. This transit is not for the faint of heart. It’s erratic and even shocking, but for those walking their talk, it may be surprising in a way that exceeds our expectations. Uranus in Taurus disrupts old systems, particularly those connected to money, food, and the body. When retrograde, its lessons become more personal—we’re asked to rethink how we define stability and to embrace innovation in how we care for ourselves and the Earth. You are worthy. Ask for what you need, and open yourself up, through self-compassion, to receive what you deserve.

Mercury stations retrograde in Sagittarius on Sunday, November 9th, turning the mind inward. Sagittarius rules our beliefs and philosophies, and this retrograde may challenge the truths we’ve accepted without question. It’s not a time for grand declarations but for deep listening—especially to the stories we tell ourselves about what is or isn’t possible. Follow your hunches and embrace mental independence—you can think for yourself! You know which way is the right way for you, but remember that “all that glitters is not gold.”

On Tuesday, November 11th, Jupiter stations retrograde in Cancer, softening our expansion and redirecting us towards conscious rest, not just zoning out and numbing. Jupiter here nourishes us through belonging, safety, and emotional generosity. During this retrograde we are working on shoring up the ‘inner home,’ and that means paying attention to what we are attached to externally and if it can ever really provide us with the stability we need emotionally if not built on a foundation of self-regard.  Take this opportunity to cultivate faith in the material and physical world through care and compassion in the emotional and spiritual world inside of you, rather than external success.

The New Moon in Scorpio on Thursday, November 20th, forms a powerful conjunction with the Sun and Mercury, marking a moment of emotional rebirth. Scorpio energy digs beneath the surface, guiding us to confront shadow aspects with courage. This moon invites us to set intentions rooted in transformation and you guessed it- integrity. It’s a time to release old emotional contracts, to reclaim power from past pain, and to welcome ‘the truth’ as medicine.

When the Sun enters Sagittarius on Saturday, November 22nd, the mood begins to shift, although Saturn stationing in a week does not allow for lightness so much. After weeks of deep internal work, we start to engage with the path ahead, we can see the bullseye appearing, and we start to raise our arrows. Sagittarius season restores optimism and invites us to reconnect with our purpose. This is a season for exploration, education, and the rediscovery of joy after the intensity of Scorpio’s underworld journey.

Saturn stations direct in Pisces on Friday, November 28th, grounding our spiritual insights in tangible practice. How do you commune with the infinite? The cosmos, the mystery that permeates the universe and makes up everything that is and ever was? Pisces asks for surrender to this spiritual connection, and Saturn gives form and structure—together, they teach us that discipline and devotion coexist and must be married through our individual commitments to our spiritual lives.

The following day, Saturday, November 29th, Mercury stations direct in Scorpio, bringing mental clarity after a period of retrograde reflection. Truths that were hidden may now come to light, offering closure or resolution, but not before they go for the jugular. Conversations deepen, and communication becomes a tool for authentic emotional expression rather than defense. We must be very conscious today not to project our issues and place blame outside of ourselves and must replace our rage at self and others with a compassionate love. Everyone has a shadow; we all have thoughts to shift, and spirit never tires of giving us second chances.

Finally, on Sunday, November 30th, Venus enters Sagittarius, closing the month on a note of openness and adventure. After navigating the depths of Scorpio, love lightens, expands, and seeks new experiences. This is an invitation to fall in love with the journey itself—to approach relationships and life with curiosity, laughter, and an open heart. You are worthy of living out your life's purpose, whatever that may be. Follow the inspiration.

November’s unfolding reminds us that transformation isn’t comfortable, but it is sacred and necessary. Through shadow and illumination, contraction and expansion, we are being guided toward a more honest, embodied, and compassionate way of being.
